The Buehler Estate is a historic Mid-Century Modern venue nestled in Orinda, California. The magnificent property was designed by American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. The estate covers four acres and was landscaped by Henry Matsutani, chief designer of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of Interior, the estate has been celebrated for its architectural significance and timeless design. In 2016, Vogue named The Buehler Estate one of five standout venues across the United States—the only property of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area—and it has also been featured by Curbed as one of the “15 Wedding Venues Perfect for Architecture Lovers.”

"Went on a tour of the property, which is not only a historical jewel in itself, but the contents of it are also amazing. There are statues from China, centuries-old German armor, pottery from a shipwreck near Vietnam, muskets, jade, pocket-watches, paintings, the list goes on. We went primarily to see the house and its architectural beauty, but we got so much more than we bargained for (in a good way!). I can definitely see why the property would be closely monitored... the number of artifacts and amount of history located here is staggering. I love that it's so unassuming.

"After attending an event at The Buehler Estate in Orinda, CA, I was left in awe of experience. The beautifully manicured garden with waterfall and Japanese Tea House left such a lasting and magical impression. The home itself, full of beauty and intrigue was a lovely combination of redwood and block. A true to form "Usonian" that is an impressive and significant architectural gem. The halls continued to beckon me to explore them and really enjoy not only the tranquility and exquisiteness of the home but also the fine art it contains. The 22 Karat Gold Leaf ceiling was magnificent and made me feel as though I had stepped into a Gustav Klimt painting. It was truly a superlative experience.
I was also incredibly fortunate to meet the owner, who was a very charming gentleman that loved to share his knowledge of art, architecture, and culture. Nadine, the event coordinator was professional and incredibly organized."
